Dow Jones Summer 2021 MarketWatch Newsroom Intern Internship in WASHINGTON, District Of Columbia

Job Description:

MarketWatch seeks an intern with a curious mind, a sharp writing voice, and a desire to learn to tell stories that inform, engage, and entertain readers.

Our newsroom interns do stints covering tech, markets, company news, personal finance, and other beats, reporting and writing daily news stories and features from day one. On Monday you might be covering a company earnings call, Tuesday you could be interviewing a gaming company CEO or TikTok trading influencer.

We are particularly looking for interns with interest in tech, personal finance, social media, and data journalism and visualization.

This is an opportunity to report and write in a fast-paced newsroom, develop a nuts and bolts understanding of markets and corporate finance, and relish all the absurd ways money plays out in our lives. Our coverage is guided by two principles:

  • To democratize financial information.

  • To help readers understand what the news means to their money.

Ideal applicants have experience writing for student publications, some knowledge or interest in business journalism, and most importantly a desire to learn and collaborate on deadline.

The position is ideally based in New York, San Francisco, or Washington, D.C., but we will consider strong remote applications given that geography remains somewhat irrelevant at present.
