The Vice President of Training, Culture & Community (referred to as Vice President) will be responsible for helping to drive and support greater understanding, inclusion and opportunity for colleagues with diverse skills, perspectives and experiences at Dow Jones. The incumbent's team will also oversee the company's functional training, in partnership with business stakeholders; company onboarding experiences for all new hires; company inclusive resource groups; summer programming for company interns outside of newsrooms; and outreach and community programming for teams that support our business operations. This team vice president will also partner closely with the Vice President of Training, Culture & Community for Dow Jones editorial operations on developing and implementing global diversity, equity and inclusion strategies.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Training, Culture & Community, the Vice President will spend time with leaders and other colleagues across Dow Jones' corporate, subscriptions, product experiences, data and business information teams to develop and implement strategies and success measures that support opportunities for an inclusive, welcoming culture and a culturally competent and diverse workforce. The incumbent will be an ambassador for the People team and will work creatively, ambitiously and collaboratively to:
Work across teams to help develop programs, training and outreach solutions that enrich a global, digital culture of inclusion and to help bolster retention and career development.
Drive metrics, data and monitoring trends to track progress and pinpoint areas of focus for continued improvement and progress, including current and future training and outreach programs.
Build partnerships, assess needs and work directly with teams as needed on diversity, equity and inclusion goals and outcomes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external individual and organizational partners to advance diversity efforts. Work includes helping to build communities among outreach program participants.
Stay abreast of diversity trends and best practices, as well as develop and encourage measurement and compliance tools across the organization.
Provide team guidance for the company's enterprise internship program, partnering with the Recruiting team.
Lead a team responsible for onboarding experiences for new hires.
Provide strategic direction and oversight for the company's Inclusive Resource Groups.
Help to identify outside training opportunities, fellowships and other programs that could enrich professional experiences.
Carry out other related responsibilities as needed and assigned by the Senior Vice President of Culture, Training & Outreach.
10-plus years of successful People team experience, including training and successful track record in DE&I work.
5-plus years in leadership, strategy, talent development and training program work.
Proven track record of hiring, developing and retaining top talent.
The ideal candidate is an open-minded, strategic and critical thinker who can take a hands-on approach to deliver results, as needed, whether in program management, clarifying systems, building leadership skills or taking on special projects.

NYC Pay Range: $140,000 - $450,000
