About the Role:

This social writing/strategy internship is part of the Multi-Media Sales, reporting to the Social & Content Strategist at The Trust, The Wall Street Journal’s branded content studio that produces Custom Content from WSJ. You will gain an understanding of the Custom Content Industry and will learn the journalist practice of developing social content and ad copy to promote client programs.

This role is hybrid, based in our New York City office.

You Will:

  • Learn the ins and outs of all things social (organic and paid), in addition to gaining a foundational understanding of branded content and digital advertising as they relate to social media

  • Aid in developing the social voice and presence for Custom Content from WSJ through writing organic social copy highlighting our internal wins, culture, events, thought-provoking proprietary intelligence, and client success stories

  • Coordinate and schedule the organic social calendar for Custom Content from WSJ

  • Manage asset creation requests for internal social posts, as needed

  • Assist in refreshing internal social resources, including decks, benchmarks, and imagery

  • Communicate cross-functionally to answer basic requests related to social media

  • Identify areas of opportunity by helping with cleaning and analyzing data for all social channels

You Have:

  • Completed at least two years of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn

  • Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets

  • Passion for understanding consumer behavior and all sides of social media (paid, organic, and product)

  • Ability to multitask and manage your time

  • Natural curiosity for learning new processes and ideas

  • A Plus: Previous experience with a third-party social scheduler (Sprout, HootSuite, SocialFlow, etc.) and experience with design software such as Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Cloud

Salary: $25.00/hour
