The mission of the Customer Value team is to identify and chase new opportunities founded in our customer data to deliver value across our Consumer, Advertising and Professional Information Business. We analyze our customer lifecycles, partner with business and technology stakeholders, and identify innovative data questions that nobody else is answering. These questions transcend business unit boundaries and transform the ways we deliver value. We launch new ways of collecting data and ensure that we optimize it to supercharge revenue across our business.
Candidates for this role will have demonstrated past experience in reporting & business intelligence. Past data modeling projects should include topics such as machine learning methodologies, conversion analytics and retention & churn, where critical thinking is required to answer business questions through the reduction of 1st / 2nd / 3rd party datasets.
Develop scalable solutions based on state-of-the-art machine learning methodologies
Define key metrics to track revenue performance and inform product decisions
Support team analyze datasets which require critical thinking in the areas of consumer content consumption, campaign conversion, ROI and trends
Support QA processes to ensure reporting and analytics accurately reflect aggregation of data for business questions
Identify opportunities to enhance an understanding of the Dow Jones customer base, segmenting content consumption and revenue
Undergraduate or Graduate Students with a Major in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering or related STEM major
Programming experience with either Python or R, plus one other general purpose programming language such as Java or C/C++ SQL & relational database experience a must, experience with noSQL, Big Data stack preferred
Strong foundation in inferential statistics and machine learning techniques
Experience in visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
Capacity to communicate complex concepts in easy-to-understand terminology
Ability to translate data and insight into a value-driving business plan
Experience with consumer B2C marketing and (digital) publishing preferred
Nice to Have
Experience with text mining and natural language processing
Experience building knowledge graphs based on text
Experience writing scripts to interact with APIs for data retrieval
We're looking for candidates who are working towards a bachelor's degree with at least one year of school completed.
