Podcast Internship, New York (Summer 2025)
The Wall Street Journal podcast internship is an opportunity primarily for college juniors to work in our award-winning newsrooms in New York. Seniors and graduate students enrolled in a degree program by the application deadline are also eligible to apply.
Your primary duties will include supporting the production of editorially sound and compelling audio for WSJ's podcasts, as well as publishing and promotion of shows both on the WSJ platform and off-platform. This may include researching, finding and securing archival audio, script writing (with an emphasis on writing for the ear), and social media promotion.
You should be a self-starter who understands the needs of our audience across multiple platforms and is able to work independently under deadline pressure. Dedication to high journalistic standards and excellent writing and reporting skills are required. You should have a basic understanding of podcast formats and delivery methods and a strong interest in domestic, international and business news, though prior business/finance reporting experience is not required.
You should have completed at least one prior reporting, producing or research internship with another professional media organization or published exceptional work with a campus news outlet or as a freelancer.
Prior audio producing, recording and editing experience, ideally in Pro Tools or Adobe Audition is required.
