Dow Jones Business Manager in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

Dow Jones is seeking a Business Manager for its Experience team. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff (“COS”), you will be the one to ensure that our department is well-coordinated and productive and partner closely with the COS to drive departmental cultural and business initiatives. This role will require thorough knowledge of various departmental and company processes and is responsible for the overall effectiveness of Experience. This role serves as point person for the COS on a day-to-day basis. As the Business Manager, you will work with senior leadership to plan, track and accelerate work across a broad portfolio by implementing and evolving processes for key projects. You must be someone who can discover the most efficient ways to safeguard and augment the efficiency of the Chief Experience Officer’s (“CXO’s”) operations to facilitate accelerating development and long term success.


  • Provide regular updates and timelines on status of the initiatives to the COS and draft department-wide communication where necessary

  • Create, update and maintain templates and business process

  • Partner with COS to align on strategy and execution of projects, initiatives and events

  • Assist with execution of cultural initiatives (such as hackathons, ways of working, onboarding, swag, internships, and wellness initiatives), utilize feedback from across the team to identify new department-wide initiatives, and partner with COS to align on strategy and execution.

  • Partner with COS to create and implement survey’s across Experience with input from People Team and Comms

  • Assist COS in organizing and compiling materials for staff meetings, town halls, off sites, quarterly meetings and executive briefings/communications

  • Prepare briefs and agendas for all meetings

  • Take notes in meetings as needed

  • Partner with COS on return to work and future of work process

  • Create a system for Experience projects

  • Provide backup to EA and team assistant when needed

  • Own special projects as requested by the COS and CXO


  • 3 years of experience with an emphasis on project management and senior level executive support

  • Experience working with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams

  • Ability to operate independently with excellent time management skills and confirmed ability to deliver on multiple, competing priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to effectively interact with people and partners across all levels within the organization

  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships

  • Work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines

  • Manage complex projects while remaining flexible and positive

  • Hybrid work schedule with 3 days in office
